We are seeking a motivated and dependable Millwork Shop Assistant to join our production team. This position involves hands-on work in the fabrication and assembly of custom interior and exterior doors, frames, jambs, and millwork components. The ideal candidate will have experience working with woodworking tools, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist in the assembly, sanding, cutting, trimming, and machining of interior and exterior doors, frames, jambs, and custom millwork components.

· Operate woodworking tools and machinery (e.g. table saw, miter saw, shaper, edge bander, sanders, door machine) safely and efficiently.

· Load and unload raw materials and finished goods using carts, dollies, or forklifts.

· Inspect materials and finished products for quality, accuracy, and damage.

· Assist in building and packaging custom orders per drawings, cut lists, or verbal instructions.

· Accurately label and stage products for delivery or pickup

· Maintain clean and organized workspaces in the shop and assist in daily shop maintenance.
· Collaborate with production staff to ensure projects are completed on time and meet customer expectations.

· Work independently as well as part of a team.

· Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

· Assist in inventory counts and communicate material needs to the Shop Leads and Sales Team.

· Cross-train to assist with deliveries or warehouse duties as needed.

· Be vigilant to identify shoplifters and other types of theft. Respond with appropriate action, according to company policy.

· Help other staff with various tasks as needed.

· Attend all staff meetings.

· Adhere to all company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience using woodworking tools.

  • At least three years of recent full-time work experience.

  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy items, standing, and moving materials throughout the day.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.

  • Team-oriented with good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Compensation: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
